Michael Shingleton has been a bartender, a broker, a bookie, and a bill collector and that is only the “Bs”.  In Ganeshpuri, India in 1978 Swami Muktananda, a Siddha Master gave Michael a 2600 year old  technique for finding peace in this crazy, hectic beautiful world.  Michael calls this practice “The Now Sound”, as it is the sound of your breath and brings you away from the stress of the past and the future and into this moment.  Because Michael’s credo is, “when invited I show up”, he has had the honor to share The Now Sound with corporations, small groups and individuals of every generation. This is a unique opportunity to experience his teaching of "The Now Sound"
and participate in "kirtan", call and response chanting.
 
Rev. Durga Glasson, M. ED. is a certified Structural Yoga Therapist and Teacher Trainer. During the celebration Durga will be performing a special puja (worship ceremony) to the light. Durga is an Integral Yoga Reverend and a devotee of Swami Satchidananda.

Mangala will explain some traditions of the winter solstice.

This special evening of celebration and meditation is free of charge. This is sure to be an evening to remember!

Strength and Flexibility through Structural Yoga

Through an in-depth appreciation of basic asana kinesiology you will discover how to use a combination of strength and flexibility to balance the body and relieve pain. Learn about the agonist and antagonist relationships of muscles and recognize how this effects your hatha practice.  When combined with pranayama - breathwork, this approach can lead to freeing of stuck prana – life energy and decrease pain and discomfort in the body. Through the exploration of the Joint Freeing Series (JFS), a new relationship toward anatomy will be understood. Discover how to use the JFS as a means of muscle testing (MT).  Appreciate standard and safe ROM.  Recognize how limited and excessive ranges of motion (ROM) and lack of strength may affect your ability to perform asanas safely and learn adaptations. Learn how the practice of the JFS as a daily sadhana can prepare the body for deeper work in yoga. Ideal for teachers, experienced students, of anyone who wants a gain a better understanding of how the body works.
